We are thrilled to announce that board member Madalyn McElwain has stepped into the Interim Executive Director role to steward the Psychedelic Bar Association through the next phase of our evolution!
Madalyn has a deep understanding of the grassroots psychedelic ecosystem and a fierce commitment to justice-informed harm reduction and drug policy reform, marked by her years of service to social equity and direct service organizations. She is deeply committed to the community-building mission of the PBA; she c0-stewarded the Legalization and Regulation Committee (LARC) as a founding member and has been an active PBA board member, serving as the Foundational Operations Lead for the first year of her term. Madalyn has done all this while incubating and recently birthing a human being into the world! You can read Madalyn’s full bio here, and learn more about her via LinkedIn.
The PBA is a volunteer-led group of attorneys and legal professionals that together comprise a board of directors, dues-paying members, and subject matter-specific committees. We are currently fiscally sponsored by Cascadia Now!, a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization based in the PNW, and we are in the process of establishing ourselves as an independent nonprofit. We believe that Madalyn’s administrative and operational expertise – honed through more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and representation – will serve the organization well.
Thank you for your trust and participation in the PBA – we’re excited for this milestone moment, and look forward to continuing to serve the ecosystem alongside you.
